Hardball Coop’s Thom Henninger was on the road this week, and made a stop in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for a contest between the low Class A Cedar Rapids Kernels (Angels) and West Michigan Whitecaps (Tigers). Cedar Rapids infielder Alexia Amarista (pictured) impressed Thom with a big day at the plate.

By Robert Gurganus Just got back from seeing the Wilmington Blue Rocks play the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on Easter Sunday at BB&T Coastal Field in Myrtle Beach. Cole Rohrbaugh pitched a great five innings to get the 6-3 win for the Pelicans and earn a split for the four-game opening series.

Cincinnati first baseman Joey Votto is raking so far this season. Through three games the Reds slugger is batting .538 with two homers and seven RBIs. Hardball Cooperative’s Robbie Gurganus caught Votto midspit last weekend in an exhibition contest against Cincinnati’s Double-A affiliate, the Carolina Mudcats.

Hardball Cooperative’s Robert Gurganus was on hand for North Carolina’s matchup with Virginia on Sunday. UNC took a 6-5 victory to earn the series win in an ACC matchup of top-10 ranked opponents.
